Just like Mimi

Haley had her usual yogurt for breakfast, but insisted on having bites of Mimi's bowl of raisin bran-so Mimi finally just got Haley her own bowl of cereal and they ate together and watched cartoons.

So Happy to Have Mimi here!

We are so happy that Mimi was able to fly out here and help us for a few weeks!  With us both having very busy schedules during the month of March, and adding to that the move, we can certainly use a few extra hands around to help!  It has been great to come home to clean laundry and dinner every night.  Pop Pop flies in on Sunday and will be here for a week, and finally Uncle Eric will be flying in on April 1st just in time for Haley's 2nd birthday party on Saturday, April 2nd!
Mimi definitely was a life saver the first day that she was here.  Haley woke up with a low-grade fever and had to stay home from school that day.  She woke up again on Tuesday with a low-grade fever and again got to stay home with Mimi.  Finally, on Wednesday, after being fever-free most of the day on Tuesday, she went to school.  Thursday she woke up with a temp of 102.3, and I decided to take her into the pediatrician that afternoon.  Poor little girl had a double ear-infection and a ruptured ear drum, and to top it off, she had pneumonia in one of her lungs!  She was given antibiotics and seems to be feeling a LOT better!  And for a little girl who had so many things wrong, she really wasn't ACTING that sick (well, except for one VERY sleepless night on Wednesday)
Mimi and I went to the rodeo on Friday night to see Alan Jackson and had a great time.  So far I don't think we are working Mimi *too* hard, but I am sure she may feel otherwise!  We close on our new house on Friday at 9:00AM and the movers come on Saturday at 9AM to move us over.  I can't wait!

Here are a few pics from this week and one video that Eddie took of Haley talking.  She is a little chatterbox these days!

Here is a picture of Haley playing with her water table...

Our Visit to the Rodeo

Last Saturday we took Haley to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show.  We went on Sunday at 9AM becuase we knew the crowds would be a bit less at that time on the weekend.  We met up with a friend from my work and her husband and daughter, Landes. Haley had a blast!  Rodeo comes to Houston in March every year, and I always go several times.  Last year I took her on a Friday, but she was still a little young and just looked around.  This year she got to see all the animals, go to a petting zoo, and ride on her 1st pony ride!  She always makes us laugh because we think she is so different from other kids.  You will notice in the photos attached that she isn't really smiling or laughing, but basically taking it all in.
She was too much on the Pony Ride.  She didn't laugh until the last lap around.  She just sat there, looking around, and started to lean back...really far...and even the worker came and tried to help her sit up and hold the saddle (of which she had no part of)  Funny, then she cried when she had to get off of the pony.  Guess she was having more fun than she was letting on!

Haley when she first was on the pony.

Haley laying all the way back!
While we were in the petting zoo, Haley tried to clean all of the shavings that other kids were putting on the animals off.  She was able to see a llama, baby goats, big goats, roosters, pigs, kangaroo, and donkeys.
Love the Llama!

We had a great time as a family at the rodeo. I can't wait to continue taking Haley each year and see how much she enjoys all of the animals...her way!
